Muzaffarnagar was founded in 1633 by the son of a mughal commander Sayyid Huzaffar Khan during the reign of Shah Jahan. Huzaffar is popularly known as “The Sugar Bowl of India.” The economy of the district is mainly based on agriculture paper & steel industries Muzaffarnagar is now part of National capital Region
